Shaquana Cuttino is the single mother of a two and three year old princess. She struggled with self esteem issues that no one knew about her whole life because she was good at hiding her pain. Ms Cuttino says, “My whole life I’ve felt inadequate, less attractive than other girls. I know how it feels to live with low self esteem. I gained self esteem through the arts and modeling. With the birth of my daughters the low self esteem returned because of the weight gain and again I struggled to appear confident. I looked into my oldest daughter’s eyes one day and vowed to her that I would raise her to never have low self esteem and to always know that she is beautiful. Every day since that day I have told both of my daughters that they are smart and beautiful. It is so amazing to me to see how self assured and confident a two and three year old can be just by hearing those words.  I also enrolled both of my girls in ballet and gymnastics at two years old. This also increased their self esteem. God decided to use me to help create and instill all of those properties in little girls everywhere. My dream is to see every little girl walking with confidence and pride and to never see a girl hang her head low in shame and defeat. It is really important for me to reach those girls from under privileged families. I named the organization “Our Little Princess” because we need to teach our girls that no matter if they do not fit the mold that “society” feels is a princess- they are still OUR princesses. Our meaning the parents of these girls, the teachers, the community in general. The company name is very significant as well. “Miniyah” means “Great things are expected of me” and “Ajania” means “she who wins the struggle”  We want to convey to the girls that great things ARE expected of them and they ARE expected to win the struggle (be it peer pressure, school work, self esteem issues) whatever the struggle is they are expected to win it. I pray that this organization blesses you as it has blessed me. It feels so good to be used by God this way and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to spread this message to you and your girls!!!!!!!!!
